Alma May Joudrey
87, Bridgewater, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2009 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Violet (Taylor) Alves and step father Tony Alves. Alma worked for many years as a legal secretary and was the deputy Registrar for the office of the Registry of Deeds, Bridgewater. She later worked at the V & V Canteen. She was currently a volunteer at Pleasant Rest Home and has been for many years. She was well known for her cherry balls and peanut butter squares. Alma loved to play bingo and eating out, she enjoyed spending quality time with her beloved cat, Snoopy. She will be forever missed by her loving daughters, Marcia (Gerald) Corkum, Midville Branch; Patti Arenburg, Bridgewater; grandchildren, Steven (Tanya) Crouse; Michael (Tanya Joudrey) Crouse; Nikole Arenburg; step grandsons, Andrew Corkum; Michael (Trudy) Corkum; five step great grandsons. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas F. Joudrey, half brother, Billy. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and where funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday. Rev. Sarah Scott officiating. Burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery. Family flowers only, donations to Senior Wheels Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
