Pearl Sylvia Joudrey
90, New Germany, formerly of Maitland, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, in Hillside Pines Nursing Home, Bridgewater, where she had been residing for the past several years. Born in Mahone Bay, she was a daughter of the late Winifred and Stella (Eickle) Barry. She was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany. Surviving are her daughters, Barbara (Harry W.) Conrad, Middle LaHave; Lucille (Robert) Wentzell, Jean (Richard) Baker, all of Baker Settlement; Linda (Derrel) Veinotte, Wileville; Carolyn Joudrey (Paul Meisner), Bridgewater; Susan Joudrey (Stephen Briggs), Conquerall Bank; Cathy Joudrey (Michael Rafuse), Parkdale; sister, Jean Nauss, Spryfield; brothers, Donald, Mahone Bay; George (Sylvia), Ontario; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Dawson St. Clair Joudrey; granddaughter, Deborah; sisters, Phyllis Meisner, Shirley Crossland; brothers, Ivan, Ray and John. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. Funeral 11 a.m., Saturday in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany, Rev. Anna Hoeg officiating. Private family burial will follow in Epworth Cemetery, New Germany. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia, Hillside Pines Nursing Home or charity of choice.
