Obituary of Raymond Garfield Lohnes

Raymond Garfield Lohnes 80, of Middlefield/Upper Northfield died Sunday, May 31, 2009. Born May 02, 1929, in Upper Northfield, he was the son of the late Wilbert and Lois (Joudrey) Lohnes. Raymond worked all of his life as a labourer both in Nova Scotia and in Ontario. He was very kind to everyone that he knew and willing to give a helping hand whenever he was needed. He spent the last six years of his life at Hillsview Acres, Middlefield where he received care from a staff that is second to none. The residents and staff were an important part of his extended family. He is survived by two sisters, Freda (Roland) Snyder, Upper Northfield and Hilda Keddy Berwick, nieces and nephews and his special nephews James (Cynthia) Snyder, Bridgewater, their sons, Matthew and Andrew and Jerry (Debbie) Snyder, Lower Sackville and son, Joel. He was predeceased by sisters Lorna Goehring, Beulah Glidden, Noreen Conrad, Pauline Zinck, by brothers Russell Lohnes and Gerald Lohnes, half sister Hazel Kelly and half brothers Oswald Lohnes, Asaph Lohnes and Morrill MacKay. Memorial donations may be made to the Upper Northfield Cemeteries, Hillsview Acres, (Middlefield RR #1 Greenfield, Lun. Co., NS BOT 1E0) or any other charity.
