Edward Ernest Sainsbury
69, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away at home on June 1, 2009. Born, July 29, 1939 in St. Boniface, Manitoba. He was a son of the late Edward Steven Sainsbury, Dartmouth and Jessie Sainsbury, Calgary, Alberta. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years; Rose-Marie Dorothy (Wood); daughters, Deborah (Allan) MacArthur, Bridgewater; Karen (Chris) Butler, Kentville; sons, Chris (Karen), Bridgewater; Ted (Elaine), Brantford, Ont; grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Krista, Stephanie, Cheryl and Nicole; Andrew, Joshua and Melissa; great grandchildren, Hannah, Austin, Tristan and Brycen. Ed, as everyone called him, is also survived by brother, Dr. Robert Sainsbury, Calgary. He was predeceased by daughter, Catherine. Ed served with the Canadian Military, with the Fort Garry Horse and the 8th Canadian Hussars (Princess Louise’s), Petawawa, Ont; At the time of his death, he was the regional manager for the Nova Scotia Labour and Workforce Development, Occupational Health and Safety Division. Previously he was employed at Michelin Tire in a supervisory position and later as plant health and safety coordinator. Ed’s passions were his work, gourmet cooking, traveling yearly to Mexico, reading and gardening; he also had a keen interest in music and world affairs. Ed was an accomplished person in this world and will be missed. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Service will be 1:30 p.m., Friday in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater. Rev.
