Obituary of Carl Frederick Streatch

Carl Frederick Streatch Age 76 of Halifax, formerly of Petite Riviere/Greenbay, passed away on Sept. 15th at the VG complex of the QE11 Health Sciences Centre. He was the son of the late Ralph and Evelyn (Cox) Streatch. Until his retirement in 1998, he was the owner of MacKays Pharmacy (later Pharmasave) in Bridgewater. He had a great love of Bridgewater and communities, particularly Petite Riviere and Greenbay where he had his home for many years. His feline friends, Mokey and Cokey, will miss him. He is survived by his wife Jean (Doig), his son Gregory (Lisa), daughter Lesley Streatch, stepdaughter Elizabeth Doig, stepson Iain Doig & family, sister Joan Patterson, nephew Drew Patterson, niece Tanya Patterson Cross (Greg) & family, grandchildren Kirstie, Nicholas, Alex and Brooke. Cremation has taken place and a private funeral will be held in keeping with his wishes. A public gathering for family and friends will be held at Cranberry’s (Fairview Inn) 25 Queen St, Bridgewater from 1-3 pm on Friday, Sept. 18th. The family is deeply grateful to his caregiver for the past four years, John Myrden, Halifax, to the Doctors and Staff of the Dialysis Unit and to the Staff of 6B. Donations may be made to the Dialysis Unit, Dixon Centre or to St Michael’s Anglican Church, Petite Riviere.
