Obituary of Nedra Marshall

Nedra Marshall 92, passed away in Tideview Terrace, Digby, on March 17, 2007. Born in Dayspring, Lunenburg Co., she was a daughter of the late Roland and Lina (Robart) Rhodenizer. She enjoyed life, sewing, crocheting, quilting, oil painting, and gardening - her flowers were the envy of all who saw them. She spent over 50 years at her cottage in Green Bay, entertaining family and friends. She loved music and sang in the church choir. Nedra is survived by her husband, Arnold Marshall, South Range, Digby Co.; sons, Wayne (Betty) Porter, Dayspring; Jack Porter, Black Point; James Porter, Conquerall Mills; her eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; sister, Anita Crowe, Bridgewater, and brother, Sanford Rhodenizer, Dayspring; also her stepdaughter, Faye (David) Grant, Cornwallis; stepson, Gary (Arla) Marshall, South Range; three stepgrandchildren and seven step great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Glen Porter; one grandson; daughter-in-law, Maddie (Jack); five sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Jayne's Funeral Home, Digby, with Minister Les Barr closing each with a devotional. She will then be transferred to Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, on Tuesday with visiting hours 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in Bridgewater United Baptist Church, 307 King St., on Wednesday, March 21, at 11 a.m., Rev. Eric Campbell officiating, Rev. Doug Porter delivering the eulogy, and her former minister, Merle Zimmerman of South Range, the sermon. Interment will be in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only. Donations in her memory may be made to Bridgewater United Baptist Church Choir or a charity of your choice.
