Obituary of Vere Ivan Wentzell

Vere Ivan Wentzell 88, Falkland Ridge, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Fisherman’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Robby and Mabel (Marshall) Wentzell. Prior to retirement he was a farmer and also worked for Nova Scotia Department of Highways. He was a founding member of the Springfield District Fire Department and was a member of the Golden Age Seniors Club, Springfield. Surviving, daughter, Leona Knox, Kentville; sons, Robby (Ginny) Wentzell, Scarsdale; Aubrey (Kim) Wentzell, Falkland Ridge; sister, Iva Nichols, Middleton. Granddaughters; Amy-Jean (Matt), Kimberlee (Adam) Jay, Ashley and Natasha. Great-grandchildren; Emma-Jean, Gracie and Zachary; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife the former, Jean Starratt, grandson Kiel. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Service 2 pm Saturday in Springfield Baptist Church, Reverend Robert Gates officiating. Internment at Falkland Ridge Cemetery.
