Ada Bernice Baggett
87, West Dublin, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater with her daughters by her side. Born on the LaHave Islands, she was a daughter of the late John and Amy Florence (Walfield) Baker. She was a wife, mother and homemaker and taught school on Mosher’s Island and Bush Island. She was a member of the West Dublin United Church and choir; she taught Sunday school and was a member of the Women’s Association; member of Emerald Rebekah Lodge, West Dublin and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cantons, Bridgewater. She was renowned for her cooking and baking which she shared so freely with everyone. Surviving are daughters, Jessie (Alfred) Haché, Mount Pleasant; Lillian Baggett, West Dublin; two grandchildren, Nancy (Dale) Skinner; Dr. John (Dr. Kelly) Haché; four great grandchildren, Marcus and Nicole Skinner, Hunter and Austin Haché; sister, Jessie (Malcolm) Baggett, Bell Island; brother, Matthew Henry Baker (Ruth, Bridgewater), Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John Benjamin Baggett. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Funeral 2 p.m. Saturday in West Dublin United Church, West Dublin. Rev. Neil McEwen and Rev. Neil MacDonald officiating. Memorial donations may be made to West Dublin United Church.
