Obituary of Roy Hayhurst Butterworth

Roy Hayhurst Butterworth 85, Bridgewater, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010, in Harbour View Haven Nursing Home, Lunenburg, where he had been residing. Born in Southport, England, he was a son of the late Thomas and Rhoda (Hayhurst) Butterworth. He served with the Royal Air Force 15th Squadron Command in the Battle of Britain. He immigrated to Canada in 1973 and enjoyed his residency with his wife in Bridgewater. Surviving are his wife, Sigridur Olafia Sigurdardottir, Bridgewater; daughters, Evelyn Rose Angell, Halifax; Andrea Clements, Bridgewater; son, Roy Butterworth, Moncton; sister, Margaret Catterall, England. He was predeceased by sons, Peter and David; brothers, Sydney and MacKenzie. Time of Remembrance will be held 2-4 p.m. Thursday, April 15 in Sweeny's Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater.
