Obituary of Janet Linda Conrad

Janet Linda Conrad Age 58 passed away at her home in Lower Branch on Sunday afternoon May 16 at 2 p.m. She was born in Bridgewater N.S., twin daughter of Robert and Vera (Corkum) Bruhm of West Northfield N.S. Janet was a “good woman” (her requested sentence). She was kind and compassionate, a loving and caring mother and “Nannie” and “Auntie Jan” to all children, whom she loved so dearly and enjoyed babysitting for them. She was a “special” “Nannie” to Kyle. She was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in the time of need. “Others came first – Janet came second”. That was her motto. Janet was a confirmed member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, West Northfield. She attended Sunday School, Luther League and sang in the Junior Choir. She worked at the Metropolitan Store in Bridgewater, Tim Horton’s and the Turkey Burger. She enjoyed camping, baking and cooking.Janet is survived by her husband Brian, sons Randy (Krista), Lyle (Loretta) at home. She is also survived by her parents; twin sister Joanne (Ray) Kelly, Lower Northfield; sister, Isabel (Don) Ernst, Branch LaHave; several nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her only brother “Bobby” Bruhm 3 years ago. Cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service held 11am Wednesday May 19 at the Hillside Cemetery, Branch LaHave Rev. William Gustafson officiating. No visitation or flowers by request. Memorial donations may be to Nova Scotia Diabetic Association, Canadian Cancer Society or IWK Children’s Hospital.
