Obituary of Eric William Gibbons Dorey

Eric William Gibbons Dorey 77, Pinehurst, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2010, in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Stewiacke, he was a son of the late William and Evelyn (Gibbons) Dorey. Eric was a retired employee of the Canadian National Railway. Surviving are his wife, the former Greta MacKay; sisters, Maxine (Edward) Harpell, Sackville; Vera (Bobby) Kempton, Bedford; Lola Walker, Stewiacke; nieces and nephews, Richard MacKay, John MacKay, Larry MacKay, Joanne Fancy, Paulette Sarty; Elizabeth Harpell, James Harpell, Robert Harpell; Jean Withrow, Joan Withrow, Brenda Vachon, Merle Withrow, William Withrow, Vera Gaetz, Wayne Curry, Nancy McDow, Eric Curry. He was predeceased by sisters, Hilda Curry, Eleanor Withrow, Annie Hartling; nephews, Ricky Walker, Allan Curry, David MacKay; niece, Susan Sears. A private graveside service will be held in Hillside Cemetery, Upper Northfield. Rev. William Gustafson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or charity of choice. A public reception to celebrate Eric's life will begin at 11:30 a.m., Monday, February 15, in Pinehurst Community Hall, Pinehurst.
