Obituary of Hilda Morehouse

Hilda Mae Morehouse (Wagner) 1912-2007, Age 95, Bridgewater, NS. Formerly of Freeport, NS. Passed away on Sunday morning, June 3, 2007 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in New Tusket, NS,and grew-up in Riverdale, NS. The daughter of Elizabeth (Mullen) and Leroy Wagner. She is survived by children Joan (Wallace) of Toronto, Judy Graham (and husband, Ray) of Bridgewater, Michael Morehouse (and wife, Nancy) of Liverpool. As well, her grandchildren Rick and Craig Wallace of Toronto, Kimberlee Pearman (Graham) of Bridgwater, Michel Morehouse of Liverpool and her sister Charmaine Morehouse (Alberta), her great-grandchildren Dylan and Chloe Wallace, Bronwyn and Nevaeh Pearman, and Reilly MacLeod. She is also survived by 9 siblings: Nevins Wagner, Melba Morehouse, Althea Saunders, Kenneth Wagner, Darrell Wagner, Vivian Cossaboom, Myrtle Finigan, Reta Thurber, and Carol Hall, as well as many nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by her husband, Allison, and grandson Kevin Graham, and her sister Erma Kaminiski. Her kindness and love touched the hearts of many people. She was very active in community and church life and holding many offices during her life in Freeport. Moving to Bridgewater, NS in 1993, she continued to be a very active member of the Bridgewater church. The celebration of her life will be held at Bridgwater United Baptist Church on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Eric Campbell officiating, assisted by Rev. Harry Gardener. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 4 from 7-9 pm at Sweeney’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Internment will be held in Centreville (Digby Co.), NS on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations, as Hilda requested, will be accepted to World Vision for Hilda’s 13 year old foster child, Jedli Dika of Jakarta, Indonesia (World Vision IDN#: 168974-3512) and in support of school supplies for his community.
