Obituary of Burton St. Clair Keddy

Burton St. Clair Keddy 85, of Hebbs Cross, Lunenburg County, passed away suddenly on March 11, 2010 at home. Born in Hebbs Cross, he was a son of the late Clarence and Hilda (Kaulback) Keddy. He was a carpenter by trade working many years with Nauss Brothers. He was a veteran of the Second World War and a Life Member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, Bridgewater; also receiving the M.S.M. and the Palm Leaf. Burton was one of the founding members of the Hebbs Cross Fire Department where he was a Life Member. He was a member of All Saints Lutheran Church, Newcombville. He enjoyed doing volunteer work for the Legion, Fire Department and the Lutheran Youth Camp at Mush a Mush. He is survived by a son, Blair (Cheryl), grandchildren, Geoffrey, Joel (Richelle) and Patricia (Mike); great granddaughter, Kailyn; sisters, Marion Conrad; Irene (Percy) Bowman; brother, Wayne. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Shirley Baker. In keeping with dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a public graveside service in conjunction with a legion tribute service will be held 11am Friday March 19 in the Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middlewood, Rev Willis Ott officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hebbs Cross Fire Department or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, Bridgewater. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request.
