Donald MacLeod
81, Bridgewater, Lunenburg County, passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late George and Catherine (Nicholson) MacLeod. He was a veteran of the Second World War serving with the RCNVR. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 24, Bridgewater. He was a retired employee of Canada Post having worked for over 34 years. Surviving are his wife, Phyllis (Himmelman); daughter, Marianne (Brian) Bradbury, Lower Sackville; sons, Sandy (Marcia), Bridgewater; Ken (Wendy), Pleasantville. Grandchildren, Stephanie and Matthew MacLeod, Calgary; Scott and Courtenay MacLeod, Pleasantville; Meagan and Mark Bradbury, Lower Sackville; sister, Sylvia Tibbs, East Kildonan, Man., a niece and several nephews. He was predeceased by daughter, Marilyn Elaine in infancy; brother, John. No visitation at the funeral home by request. A public legion tribute service will be held 7pm Thursday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday in Bridgewater United Church, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Private family burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
