Obituary of Gertrude Irene Rudderham
Gertrude Irene (Trudi) Rudderhan
99 years, Bridgewater, formerly of Conquerall Bank, passed away quietly at the South Shore Regional Hospital on Friday, April 23, 2010 after a short illness resulting from a fall. Born in 1910 in Port Medway, she was the daughter of the late George and Jenny (Wolfe) Clements. She is survived by son, Michael (Ilene), Leamington, Ont; five grandchildren, Jill (Primo), Scott, Andy (Carol Ann) Rudderham and Heather (Jeff) Gillard, all of Oakville, Ont; Janet Rudderham, Gaithersburg, Maryland; great-grandchildren Ryan, Connor and Dylan Rudderham and Ella Gillard. Just six months short of her 100th birthday, she was the last survivor of siblings, Charles, Theodore, Lester (Trudy), Lorne (Kay) and Roger (Elsa) Clements and Katharine (Ben) Alexander. Predeceased by her husband, Rev. J. Franklin Rudderham, and their son Peter (Nancy), Trudi, as she was known far and wide, was a woman of grace and intellect who cared deeply for people, especially those less fortunate, and who set a shining example of what would now be called old world interest and empathy. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, May 1, in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 78 Alexandra Ave, Bridgewater. Rev. Ron Appleton officiating. A reception will follow in the adjacent parish hall. Family flowers only, please, memorial donations may be made to Holy Trinity Anglican Church or any charity.
