Obituary of Winton Raimey Russell

Winton Raimey Russell 81, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, December 27, 2010 in Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, where he had been residing. Born in Waltham, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late Hallet and Seamona “Mona” (Ramey) Russell. Winton served with the RCAF from 1952–60. Winton was a member of St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, New Germany, where he was a past choir member; he was an avid sports fan. Surviving are his daughter, Patricia (Bradford) Russell, New Germany; sons, Gregory (Sherry) Russell; Jeff Russell (Myra Jodrey), all of New Germany; sister, Betty Ann (Donald) Merriam, Middleton; brothers, Lindsay Russell, Victoria Vale; Alan (Joan), Beaver Bank;sister in law, Faye Russell, New Germany; grandchildren, Stephen Spidle, Jennifer Spidle (Greg LeBlanc), Jillian Russell, Christopher Russell, Dylan Russell; great grandchildren, Arianna Spidle, Aleya LeBlanc; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife the former Audrey Ramona Oickle; brother, Ray Russell. Visitation 7 – 9 p.m. Thursday, December 30 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral 11 a.m., Friday in St. John in the Wilderness Anglican Church, Rev. Juanita Barteaux officiating. A private family burial will be in the church cemetery.
