Ivan Ronald Dagley
83, of Conquerall Mills, Lunenburg County, passed away December 10, 2002 in the Veterans Unit of the Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in Italy Cross, he was a son of the late John and Josie (Wile) Dagley. He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas with the West Nova Scotia Regiment. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 in Bridgewater and a member of St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Upper LaHave. He is survived by his daughter, Marguerite (Holley) Jayne, Middlewood; his sons, Ivan Jr, Hebron, Yarmouth County; Brian, Conquerall Mills; grandchildren, Daniel Jayne, Major Andrew Jayne, Gretchen Dagley, Brent Dagley, Kody Dagley, Kristan Dagley; great grandchildren, Kaleb Jayne, Abbey Jayne; brothers, John and Duncan, both of Italy Cross; ½ sister Florence, Lynn, Mass. He was predeceased by his wife Almira (Hebb); grandson Kayne Dagley in infancy; sister, Helen Stewart; brother, Wallace; 2 ½ brothers and 2 ½ sisters. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater and from where a public legion tribute service will be held 7 pm Sunday. Funeral service will be held 11am Monday in St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Upper LaHave, Rev. David Dellapinna officiating. Burial will follow in the Middle LaHave Cemetery. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Matthews Anglican Church, Lunenburg County VON or the Lower LaHave Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.sweenysfuneralhome.com
