Obituary of Jean Schmeisser

Jean Schmeisser (Hebb, MacKean) 97 of Bridgewater. It is with deep sadness that we the family announce the peaceful passing of our cherished and much loved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Jean Louise Schmeisser, 97, at Shannex RYAN HALL, Bridgewater. She was the eldest daughter of the late Daniel A. and Annie (Fitch) MacLeod. Jean was born in Bridgewater on January 15, 1913 and was a life time resident of Bridgewater. She taught ballroom dancing, enjoyed playing the piano, and sang in the church choirs. As a young woman she worked in retail sales. She was a member of Bridgewater United Church and a longtime member of the U.C.W. She was a 22 year member of the Hospital Auxiliary and enjoyed the earlier years of the Dawson Daisy as a volunteer. She also was a former member of the Lunenburg County Veteran's Association and a member of the Bridgewater Seniors Club. Over the years she enjoyed many games of bridge with friends and groups. In later years, even with vision impairment, she enjoyed playing cards and games. Her family was the light of her life, and she will be deeply missed and always remembered with love and fond memories. Her deep faith was always her foundation. Jean was the loving mother of Carole (Robert) MacLaren and Marilyn (Ernest) Bolivar all of Bridgewater.
