Bruce Robert McKean
It is with great sadness that we the family of Bruce R. McKean, 85, of Pinehurst announce his sudden passing on June 30, 2007. Born on May 28, 1922 in West Northfield, he was the son of the late Gertrude (Bruhm) and Ralph McKean, Pinehurst. He was a member and elder of New West Pine United Church, Pinehurst, and the last founding member of the Northfield & District Fire Department. Past President of the Lunenburg County Christmas Tree Producers Association and past member of the Lunenburg Balsam Fir Co-op. He was a member of the Rosedale New Horizons Seniors Club, New Germany. He retired in 1985 from his trucking business and continued an active interest in Christmas Trees until his passing. He is survived by his wife of 63 yrs Margaret Altena (Varner) McKean, daughter Sandra (Edward) Walters, Wentzell Lake; son Brian (Wendy) McKean, Lower Sackville; grandchildren Karen Walters (Jimmy) , Bridgewater and Trevor (Rhonda) Walters, Upper Northfield; Kye Glenham, Lower Sackville and 4 great grandchildren; brother Eugene McKean, Pinehurst; sisters Irene Holdright, Bridgewater; Betty Spicer, Kingston Ontario and Joanne Chiasson, Wentzell Lake; Aunt Nellie Veinot, New Germany and special brother-in-Law Lloyd Varner, Sackville New Brunswick as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Douglas McKean. There will be no visitation by his request, a memorial service will be held Tuesday 3 July at 2pm in the New West Pine United Church, Rev. Joan Conrad officiating. Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to the New West Pine United Church or the Pinehurst Community Cemetery.
