Obituary of Nelson Eric Veinot

Nelson Eric Veinot 71, New Germany, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Q.E. II – Infirmary Site, Halifax on Friday, December 31, 2010. Born in New Germany, he was a son of the late N. Randolph and Elsie (Tipert) Veinot. Nelson was a member of Epworth United Church, New Germany, where he was a choir member and active in various other church organizations; he was a member of the New Germany and Area Men’s Choir and was an avid bowler. Nelson was currently serving as chief engineer with the New Germany Volunteer Fire Department. Prior to retirement, Nelson was a 27 year employee of Michelin Tires, Bridgewater. Surviving are his wife Velma R. (Ramey) Veinot; daughter, Kelly (Andrew) Russell, Camperdown; son, Terry Veinot, Tantallon; grandchildren, Kayla Russell, Mitchell Veinot, Brett Veinot; sister, Madeline (Garth) Bishop, New Germany; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by grandson, Brandon Russell. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 4, 2011 in Epworth United Church, Rev. Dale Gray officiating.
