Obituary of Barbara Donzella Archambault

Barbara Donzella Archambault 87, of Bridgewater, passed away May 28, 2011 at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Annie (Ross) Wentzell. Surviving are her sons, Rick (June Seto), Vancouver; John, Halifax; sister, Rose Marie, Dayspring; 1 grandchild, Maya, now working in London, UK; niece, Beverly, Dartmouth; nephew, Ross, Edmonton. She was predeceased by husband, Richard Archambault, in 2005. Richard and Barbara raised their family in Wilmot, Annapolis Valley, and moved back to Bridgewater in retirement. Barb was a cautious optimist with a warm heart and a variety of interests. She brought up her sons to be open-minded and true to themselves. She never gave up her own struggle for self-expression and independence. In Barb’s later years, mobility limited by multiple sclerosis and blindness, her link to the wider world was CBC Radio, and she played it loud! No visitation at the funeral home by request. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Bridgewater, Father Joe Christensen officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery, Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church or charity of choice.
