Obituary of Leila Estella Best

Leila Estella Best 93, Bridgewater, passed away on Monday, May 30, 2011 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born at Lake Pleasant, Annapolis Co., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Myra (McNair) Whynot. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Surviving are her daughter, Kathy (Rae) Purdy, Pleasantville; son, Jim (Carmel) Best, Brookside; granddaughter, Christine (Adam) Meisner, Conquerall Bank; grandson, Christopher, Brookside; great granddaughter, Ava Meisner; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Renford Best; sister, Betty Stevens. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Interment will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday in Springfield Baptist Cemetery, Springfield with memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Rev. Eric Campbell officiating. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the charity of choice.
