Obituary of Belle Vera Bush

Belle Vera Bush It is with great sadness but profound peace that the family of Belle Vera Bush, Petite Riviere, NS announce her passing on June 22 at Harbour View Haven Home for Special Care in Lunenburg, NS. Belle worked at the Arenburg House for 45 years where she cooked for and served meals to people from all walks of life and from around the world. Belle had energy beyond belief and a great sense of humour that she shared with anyone with whom she came in contact. Born in Petite Riviere, she was a daughter of the late Foster and Etta Elvira (Conrad) Richard. Belle’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were “the apples of her eye”. She walked with them, tobogganed with them, played with them and made sure they were filled with her variety of cookies she made for them. Belle loved to garden. She had beautiful flower gardens and a vegetable garden that was the envy of the community. Belle loved her walks on the Sperry’s and Crescent Beaches with her dogs who were important parts of her life. Special mention must be made of her cooking and baking skills. Her food was wonderfully prepared and always properly presented. Belle spent the last five years at Harbour View Haven where she shared her sense of humour and received care from a wonderful, caring and compassionate staff. Belle is survived by her daughter Betty (Doug) Nauss and grandchildren Heather Nauss (Tim) Vickers, Sydney Mines, NS, Michael Nauss, Petite Riviere, Jason (Leslie) Nauss, Petite Riviere, great grandchildren Brendon and Regan Vickers, Morgen and MacKenzie Nauss, Emma and Owen Nauss, sisters Vivian Bush, Petite Riviere, Cora Hiltz, Lower Sackville, NS, Jean Messervy, Middle Sackville, NS, Goldie (Owen) Steward, Crousetown, NS, Phyllis (Lee) Steward, Crousetown, NS and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Lauren (1992), sisters, Dorothy, Joyce, Lillian, brothers, Carl, Clarence, Ralph, Malcolm, Hector, Gerald and Harold. A celebration of Belle’s life will be held at Wesley United Church, Petite Riviere, Sunday June 26, at 2pm with Rev. Vivian Moores officiating. Immediate family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to Wesley United Church Building Fund, Petite Riviere, or Harbour View Haven Garden Club, c/o Harbour View Haven, Lunenburg.
