Obituary of Stanley Wilfred Corkum

Stanley Wilfred Corkum 106, New Cumberland, Lunenburg County, passed away March 29, 2011 at Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown. Born in New Cumberland, he was the son of the late Reboam and Sophia (Covey) Corkum. He was a cabinet maker at Boehner Woodworkers, Maritime Manufacturers and Bradys. He is survived by son, Oliver, Bridgewater; 5 granddaughters, Luetta (Brent) Ross, Portage la Prairie, MB; Zelda, Bridgewater; Tina (Patrick) Cudmore, Auburndale; Amanda (Roland) Roberts, Ontario; grandson, Wilfred (Nicole) Corkum, Conquerall Mills; 9 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Nellie (Meisner) in 1991; son, Bedford Basil and several children in infancy; sisters, Agnes, Lena, Alvada; brothers, Aubrey, James Lowell. Visitation will be held Thursday March 31 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater. Private family burial will be held Friday in the New Cumberland Cemetery. No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater or Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown.
