Frances Evelyn Elliott
89, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2011 at Camp Hill Veterans Memorial Hospital, Halifax. Born in Bellisle, Annapolis County and was a daughter of the late Evelyn (Nightingale) and Forrester Hector Faulkenham. After the death of her first husband, Elroy Fenwick Bent, Frances joined the Canadian Air Force (RCAF) and was stationed in the UK during the war. During this time she met and married Norman Arthur Elliott of British Columbia. After the war, they returned to Bridgewater, Nova Scotia where they raised their family. Fran’s greatest passions were for her family and she instilled in them the importance of love, respect and compassion. She was always active in many community programs and activities. Some of these included, Girl Guides, Secretary of the local Veterans club, served on the board of directors of the DesBrisay Museum, volunteered at the Dawson Daisy as well as many more. Her other passions in life included gardening, painting and swimming (an accomplishment at 70 years old!). Surviving are her 3 children, Gerald Forrester Elliott (wife – Myrna Louise Slater), Fall River; Melanie Patricia (Schreiner) Elliott, Halifax and Debra Elizabeth (husband- Mike Gill), Still Water Lake; Son in law Geoffrey Clark, Seabright (husband of the late Melodie Lynn Clark). Four grandchildren, Stephen (Wanda Custance), Bedford; Mark (Lisa Harkness) – Waverley; Heather (Mark) Carter, Lower Sackville; Linda Allot, Port Coquitlan, B.C., and five great grandchildren, Owen, Wyatt and Benjamin Carter, Samantha Veno, Amherst; Jennifer Allot, Port Coquitlam She was predeceased by her late husband Norman Arthur Elliott; daughter Melodie Lynn Clark: sister, Dorothy May Banks and brother Charles Albert Faulkenham. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Memorial service will be held 11am Friday August 19th, 2011 in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Bridgewater, and The Very Reverend John Wright officiating with a reception to follow. Private family interment in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater. Family flowers only, donations may be made to self-directed charities. At this time, the Elliott family wishes to take this opportunity to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Camp Hill as well her care providers while she still lived at home.
