Obituary of Stanley Forbs

A. Stanley "Stan" Forbes 93, of Bridgewater, passed away December 23, 2002 in the Mahone Nursing Home, Mahone Bay. Born in South River Lake, Guysborough County, he was a son of the late Alfred and Jennie (Sinclair) Forbes. He graduated from St. F X University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He was employed with Acadia Gas Engines in Bridgewater for 38 years. He was a member of the Bridgewater United Church and elder for 60 years. He also served as treasurer for 35 years. He was an avid curler, having curled for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife, Mae (Manthorne); daughter, Janet Forbes, Boston; brother, Andrew Forbes, Simi Valley, California; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Elmer and James. There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Burial will follow in the Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.
