Obituary of George Thomas Kent

George Thomas Kent 68 of Bridgewater, died at home on April 15, 2011. George was born in Truro, N.S., the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Fleming) Kent. He attended school in Bridgewater, at Acadia University and Nova Scotia Tech from which he received his degree in civil engineering. The bulk of George’s working life was spent as Managing Director of LaHave Equipment Limited. Some of his most recent happy times were spent helping his friend Max with haying, cattle and Christmas trees. George enjoyed running, sailing, horses and nature and few things made him happier than long walks with his dog. He was the very proud father of two girls, Tracy and Amy, and grandfather to seven: Eamon, Liam, Rebecca, Alexis, Elena, Zachary and Jackson. George is survived by his wife, Beth, his girls Tracy (Tim) Kent-Hillis and Amy (Scott) Hopper, son, Tim, his grandkids, his dear friends Max and Kelly Drennan and his constant canine companion Dryfus. No visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday 20 April in the Bridgewater United Church, Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. A private family interment has taken place.
