Rennie Leon Leary
82 of Lower Branch, passed away January 14, 2011at South Shore Regional Hospital. Rennie was born in Branch LaHave to the late Maxwell and Lena (Crouse) Leary in 1928. He was an avid ox teamster, was a member of the Lunenburg County Christmas Tree Producers Association and loved trimming and teaching others how to grow Christmas trees. He was a very creative man who could make anything, a real ‘jack of all trades’. Rennie is survived by his wife Mary (Hawksworth); daughters, Melinda Jane (Murray) Bruhm; Rosanne Leary; sisters, Barbara Lohnes, Emily Ritchie; brothers, Henry, Franklin, Ellison; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas and Rachel Zinck, Gabrielle Leary-Bruhm; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased his parents; sisters, Betty, Rosalee; son, Allison. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater where service will be 11 a.m. Monday. Pastor William Gustafson officiating. Burial to follow in the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery, Branch LaHave. Family flowers only. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, South Shore Regional Hospital, St. James Lutheran Church or charity of choice.
