Obituary of Goldie Blanche MacDonald

Goldie Blanche MacDonald It is with sadness that the family of Goldie (Robar) MacDonald, 92 of North River, Lunenburg Co., announces her passing on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 in Rosedale Home for Special Care, New Germany, where she had been residing. Born in Lake Pleasant, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Lois (Robar) Acker. Goldie found quiet enjoyment playing bingo and spending time with her family. She enjoyed talking to all the staff at the Rosedale Home as they stopped to give her a hug while she sat in her favorite chair. She enjoyed her last years with family, which we know she loved dearly. Surviving are daughters, Myrtle (Thomas) Jaques, Elaine (Roderick) Acker, all of North River; Evelene Robar, New Germany; Linda Heinzman, New Brunswick; son, John (Betty Anne) Robar, North River; 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by first husband, Harry Robar, second husband, Samuel MacDonald; daughters, Lois Robar, Iona Fraser; sister, Laura Swallow; brothers, Laurie and Willie; grandchildren, Randy, Phyllis and Carson Robar. The family wishes to thank all home care, palliative care and VON workers and Rosedale Home for their excellent care and for making a visit feel like home. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Funeral 10:30 a.m., Saturday in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North River, Rev. Larry Ehrhardt officiating. Private family burial will follow in the church cemetery. Family flowers only, donations may be made to Rosedale Home for Special Care. Rest in peace Mom.
