Obituary of William Stanley Shaw

William Stanley "Stan" Shaw 84,of Bridgewater passed away April 2, 2011 in the South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born on August 11, 1926 in Bridgewater he was a son of the late George Thomas and Louise Beatrice (Sprague) Shaw. Throughout his life, Stan worked as an oil company representative and auditor, travelling throughout the world. He always had a passion and love for the sea and the ships he sailed. He also worked as a civil servant for the Canadian government for many years. He is survived by sister, Ruth M. Muir and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Barbara Burns E. Smith; sisters, Barbara Shaw, Edith Carton and brother, Dr. Bernard Shaw. In keeping with Stan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. A private burial has taken place in Mill Village Cemetery. No flowers or visitation by request. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
