Obituary of Ivan Leo Smicer

Ivan Leo Smicer 64, Hebbs Cross, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. Born on March 11, 1947 in Hebbs Cross, he was a son of the late William and Dorothy (Whynot) Smicer. Ivan worked with Acadia Construction in his early years and later worked with the Department of Transportation until his retirement. Ivan will be missed by his many family and friends. Surviving are his wife, Lillian Wentzell, Hebbs Cross; sons, Ivan (Stephanie), Camperdown; Darren (Patty), Italy Cross; Corey (Angela), Hebbs Cross; grandchildren, Madison, Briannia, Chad, Candace, Kassandra, Alicia; sister, Shirley (Ed) Halbert, Tantallon; brother, Max, Hebbville; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a child in infancy; sister, Lettie Weagle. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater and where funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 27. Rev. Catharine House officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middlewood.
