Obituary of Ira Day Tufts

Ira Day Tufts 86 of Nineveh. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ira in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg, on Friday, January 21, 2011, with loving family at his side. Born at home in Simpson Corner, Ira's a son of Elva Veno of Lake Pleasant Annapolis County and Hebert Tufts of Simpsons Corner. Ira was a hard working man. He put many years of hard work in at Zwicker’s Mill, New Germany and later retired after nineteen years at National Sea Products, Lunenburg. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten. Ira is survived by sister, Ila Vidito (Tufts), Nictaux; brother, Lyn Tufts, Halifax; sons, Roy Tufts, Barss Corner; Todd Weatherby, Ontario; daughters, Elva (Danny) Jefferson, Lunenburg; Donna Feader, Bridgewater; Carolanne Tufts (Shawn) Demone, Nineveh. Grandchildren, Angela (Geoff) Demone, Bridgewater; Andriea Slauenwhite (Ian) Marsman, Bridgewater; Todd Rafuse, New Germany; Rosa Tufts, Bridgewater; Karen Cook-Goff, Halifax; Shannon Feader, Bridgewater; Shawn Slauenwhite, Middelton; Angalic Tufts, Nineveh; Cameron Tufts, Nineveh; Katlynn Rafuse, New Germany; Devon & Elise Weatherby, Toronto, Ont. Great grandchildren, Melanie Slauenwhite, Shane Tufts, Joey Slauenwhite, Devonte Slauenwhite, Austin Slauenwhite, Nicolas Croft, Ian Marsman, Darius Feader, Ethan Marsman, Eyanna Marsman, Shantay Feader; several nieces and nephews. Ira was predeceased by his loving wife of forty nine years, Florence Rose Tufts (Moore); son Timmy; daughters Linda, Debbie; brothers, Roy, killed in France during the Second World War; Lee, Guy, and infant baby, Sheldon; sisters, Ola (Russel) Savory, Una (Layton) Tipert, Fay (Morrel) Whynotte. Cremation has taken place upon Ira's wishes. Funeral service will be held at Hillcrest Lunenburg Cemetery at a later date.
