Obituary of Ruby Harriet Aulenback

Ruby Harriet Auleback (Meldrum) 88, of Bridgewater, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2012, at the Mahone Nursing Home in Mahone Bay, where she had been a resident for the past three years. Born August 25, 1923 in Auburndale, N.S., she was the only child of the late Twining and Ellen (Moran) Meldrum. In her early years, she and her family moved to Bridgewater. After finishing school, Ruby worked at Ashkins’s Ladies Wear in Bridgewater. She later moved to Halifax, working at H.H. Marshall and then for the Eaton’s Store order office. Moving back to Bridgewater, she worked as secretary at Hebb’s Motors, receptionist for Dr. Feindel and retired after her last job as sales clerk for Cezanne’s House of Fashion. During her retirement, she joyfully served as babysitting “nanny” for her “Little Debbie” for six years. In keeping with Ruby’s wishes, there will be no flowers or visitation. A private graveside service will be held at the Brookside Cemetery in Bridgewater. Memorial Donations in Ruby’s memory may be made to the charity of choice.
