Obituary of Douglas Arthur Bolivar

Douglas Arthur "Dougie" Bolivar 63 passed away January 12th at home. Born in Bridgewater, he was a son of the late Clyde and Bernice (Mailman) Bolivar. Dougie retired from Michelin, in Bridgewater after 30 years of service. He always enjoyed helping others in and around his community at any given time whether he knew you or not. He was a proud donor of the Red Cross donating blood 87 times. Dougie also enjoyed working in and around the woods on his tractor. Surviving is his wife, Carole (Romkey) West LaHave, two sons, Neil, St. John’s NL, Blair (Cindy), Petawawa, ON.; 5 brothers, St Clair (Mary), Baker Settlement, George (Mary Lou) Newcombville, Ernie (Marilyn) Bridgewater, Vernie (Linda), Lower Branch; brother-in-law Bill (Jean) Romkey, Dartmouth; many nieces and nephews; mother in law, Goldie Romkey. No visitation at the funeral home by request. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday January 18th at 11 am in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater, Rev. Willis Ott officiating.
