Obituary of Lawson Melbourne Bush

Lawson "Jim" Melbourne Bush 88, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 4, 2012. Born, March 17, 1924 on Bush Island, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Arthur and Olive (Wolfe) Bush. Jim was a veteran of the Second World War, having served overseas with the Merchant Marines. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 24, Bridgewater. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family of 16 siblings. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Daphne “Sally” Neilson; daughter, Deborah (Doug) Peel, Toronto; sons, James (Karen), Abbotsford, BC; David (Lynn), Toronto; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. No visitation at the funeral home by request. Service 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sweeny’s Funeral Chapel, Bridgewater. Rev. Ivan Norton officiating. Private family burial in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater.
