He then returned to teaching in the public school system, in Hebbville and Mahone Bay, NS. During his retirement, Doug enjoyed travelling and managing his woodlot and Christmas tree operation in Conquerall Mills. He is survived by his wife, Gloria, of Conquerall Mills; daughter Joan Stanley of Deep Brook; son David Cox of Toronto; grandsons Ryan Stanley of West Orange, NJ and Brenton Stanley of Peterborough, ON; sisters Virginia Brenan and Ruth Christensen of Sidney, BC, and by his former wife, Kathleen Cox of Deep Brook.
