Eliza May D'Entremont
88, Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., died on Friday, October 5, 2012 at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Lower West Pubnico, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Lucie (Surette) d’Entremont. Eliza “Betty” as she was known by family and friends had a great sense of adventure that led her on journeys to England, Egypt, Western Canada and throughout Nova Scotia. Her tenacity and determination helped her cope with many life burdens and still be able to laugh at the end of the day. Betty enjoyed the finer things in life she always prided herself in being fashionably dressed. Throughout her working career in the hospitality industry, Betty was praised as being an extremely dedicated hard worker. Betty’s greatest source of joy in her later years was that her son David and wife Kim moved back from British Columbia to reside in Nova Scotia. She is survived by her son, David (Kim), Port Maitland; daughter, Verna, Yarmouth; sons, Richard and Roy, England; sister, Florence, Pubnico; devoted caregivers, Annette Hartlen and her sons, Nicholas and Nathaniel, with whom she resided for the past several years. Grandchildren, Darlene and her family, Whitehorse; David, Alberta; Shawn, Edmonton. She was predeceased by sons, Ansley and Martin; brothers, Augustin, Phillip, James, Willard, Nathan, Clifford and sisters, Lottie, Anne, Arsena. There will be no visitation by Betty’s request. A private graveside service will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown. No flowers please, donations may be made to an animal shelter of choice.
