Obituary of Shirley Romkey

E. Shirley Romkey (Crosby) Romkey (Crosby), E. Shirley, Crescent Beach, passed away December 5, 2007 at the age of 88, in the Harbour View Haven, Home For Special Care, Lunenburg. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Janet Lewis (Lockhart) Crosby. She is survived by daughter, Sheila (Neil) Chambers; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Romkey and sister-in-law, Frances Romkey of Crescent Beach. She was “Big Gram” to Charmaine (Wayne Mosher), James (Bonnie), and Raymond Romkey, Jennifer (Brian Ste-Croix) and Tom (Jodi) Chambers and her great grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew, Michael Mosher, Mariah and Brennan Larsen, Ashley and Kevin Ste-Croix and Joshua, Jonah and Jaetta Chambers; sister, Barbara Davis, Calgary; brother, Raymond (Marjorie) Crosby, B.C.. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon E. Romkey Jr.; son Gordon Romkey III; sister, Margarete; brothers, Herbert and Dean. A memorial service will be held 2pm Saturday in St Matthew’s Presbyterian Church, West Dublin, Rev. Laurence Mawhinney officiating. Private family burial will be in the Romkey Cemetery, Crescent Beach. Family flowers and no visitation by request. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Matthew’s Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimers Society of N.S.
