Carter Gilbert Falkenham
“The Flying Dutchman” – 57, of Musquodoboit Harbour passed away on July 7. Born in Bridgewater, he was the son of Gilbert and Barbara (Smith) Falkenham, Maplewood. Besides his parents, he is survived by his children, Shannon Herbert (Jeff Butler), Juniper, New Brunswick; Shawn (Elizabeth), Maplewood; Alissa (Jock Doirion), East Jeddore; and Jason, Head of Jeddore. He is also survived by grandchildren Cameron and Chelsea Herbert and Sadie Butler, Juniper, New Brunswick; sister Charlene (Arthur) Gale, Kitscoty, Alberta; brothers Carson (Cheryl), Lower Sackville, and Clark (Dale), Scarsdale; along with nieces and nephews. Carter enjoyed hunting, and had a love for the open road, trucking for many years. He was also a former chief and member of the Musquodoboit Harbour Volunteer Fire Department. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home New Germany. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Musquodoboit Harbour Fire Hall 32 Riverside Ave. on Thursday, July 12 from 7-9pm. Visitation at Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 Highway 10 New Germany will take place Sunday, July 15 from 2–4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to IWK Mental Health Services or a charity of your choice.
