Harold Stanley Harding
93, Bridgewater, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Veteran’s Unit of Fishermen’s Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Harold was born December 15, 1918 in Milton to parents, Perkins and Amy Harding. During the Second World War, Harold served in the Canadian Army. Harold, who established and managed several businesses during his career, expressed the importance of professional and business development by having been a president of the Electrical Contractors Association of Nova Scotia and president of the Nova Scotia Real Estate Association. He was one who especially enjoyed the company of his grandsons and great grandchildren. Harold liked the social and athletic dimensions of golf. We thank the staff and volunteers of the Veteran’s Unit of Fishermen’s Hospital for the good care that Harold received. Surviving are son, Merrill (Anne); grandsons, Eric (Marla); Jeffrey (Penny); great granddaughter, Juniper; great grandsons, Evan and Alex; several nieces and nephews; sister, Amy King, Poughkeepsie, NY; brother, James Harding, Milton. Predeceased by wife, Marguerite; brother, William; sisters, Flora Colmer, Mary Hamway. Arrangements entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home, Bridgewater where a public legion tribute will be 7 p.m. Friday. Rev. Willis Ott, Chaplain, officiating with a reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 24, 78 Churchill Street, Bridgewater.
