Raeburn Elliot Illingworth
71, Simpsons Corner, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, April 19, 2012. Born at Church Lake, New Cornwall, he was a son of the late Ted and Mary (Demone) Illingworth. Raeburn began his career as a self employed trucker later becoming a welder and working for several different companies until retirement. Raeburn served as a councilor for the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg from 2000-2004. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, branch 102, New Germany. He enjoyed working in his woodlands always accompanied by his loving dogs, Freedom and Dusty. Surviving are his wife, the former Janet Emino; daughters, Trina Illingworth, Julie Illingworth (Colin Murray), all of New Germany; son, Jody (Kellie), Simpsons Corner; grandchildren, Ashley, Devan, Tiffany, Deanna and Jaden; sister, Edith (Murray) Richards, Lower Sackville. He was predeceased by his daughter, Tina. Public visitation will be from 7-9 p.m., Monday in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 4895 route 10, New Germany. Annual and perennial flowers would be accepted for planting in the Family Memorial Garden. Respecting Raeburn’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
