Doug & family.....I was saddened and shocked at the passing of Edith. She was such an inspiration in keeping the history of the Museum alive. After the passing of my Dad (Lawson Bush), she always wrote me a personal note with every donation card. I will miss her stories and personal letters. I'm sure the museum and all involved will miss her hand in everything she did. My thoughts & prayers go out to all of you....Deborah (Bush) Peel

It was very sad to learn of Edith's death. She was my first cousin, once removed, as our mothers were first cousins. The fondest memory I have of her was four years ago when she generously consented to help me organize a tour of all of the places in Mt. Pleasant where my mother, Rhoda Wamback Nickerson, trod in the early 20th century. I was bringing a Nickerson extended family from Shelburne County to go on this tour, as well as cousins who descended from the John Wamback and Mae Meisner Wamback family. Edith gamely shepherded us from family home, to uncle's home, to church, and to cemeteries. We could not have done it without her and she regaled us with some family lore as we followed in a caravan of cars and chatted over tombstones and other stopping places. We were also able to visit Edith's mother, cousin Marguerite, my mother's cousin. The day ended by most of us going to the LaHave Islands museum and learning all about ships and shipwrecks. This day was frequently recalled and talked about in my family in the years since, and memories of Edith will always be punctuated by the recollections of this special occasion.
My husband and I send our deepest sympathy to Doug, his family, and cousin Marguerite at this difficult and trying time.
With warm regards, Irwin and Gloria Pless

Dear Doug and Family
We were shocked and so very saddened to read Edith's obituary online from Florida. Words are at a loss.
I have very fond memories of Edith, dating back to high school, and in Halifax when she was in training.( when we both were still single); and later on visits in Montreal, and Bridgewater with the 4 of us.
Although we didn't keep in touch often, her Christmas letters were cherished, and Christmas won't be the same without them.
Our deepest sympathy, love and prayers, will be with you all...especially on Friday.

We are so saddened to learn of Edith's passing. Jerrod only met with you and Edith once, but I have loved her as a mother figure since I was a very little girl when she helped me to stop sucking my thumb. She was the only one I would listen to about that subject. Her kindness, her delicious baking and her enjoyable Christmas letters all contributed to wonderful memories of her. Heaven has her now and we will all be at a loss until we arrive there as well.
