Johnny was one of the first siblings of my grandfather (Arnold) I ever met. He lived just down the road from me at one point and I always remember that house as "Uncle Johnny's house". He was always smiling and gave any family gathering a little more bounce. I'm going to miss you Johnny, and I'm thinking of all of my family and Johnny's friends. I love you all

I remember Uncle Johnny as always having a smile on his face. He was always laughing and telling jokes to us as kids. Whenever we were around he always made sure he made us laugh. I haven't been around the family much but I am going to miss Uncle Johnny. He is one of those people you think are always going to be here. RIP Uncle Johnny.

My grandfather was of the old-school stoic mentality and never really knew how to express emotions verbally, but it was presented throughout his actions and you could feel it beating right below the surface.
He was one of the hardest working people I ever knew, he worked for years and took pride in everything he did.
I grew up most of my life in foster care. When we were going through the family court system later in my life, he was there with my grandmother to support my sister and I
When I took my sister and left my parents, he took me in. He had a one bedroom bungalow and made sure I was safe. He took me to the hospital when the untreated injury I had became apparent. He fought with family and children services when they took me because he wasn't an 'approved foster parent.' He is the one who sat up with me all night when I didn't want to go back to rehab and made sure I walked all the way to that car that would take me back.
He was the only person my sister and I were able to see on supervised visits after being taken in foster care.
My grandfather asked for nothing in return, and loved us deeply. He is part of the reason I am who I am today. He was like a father to me and I will miss him forever. He is gone, but what he did lives on through me and breaking a multi-generational cycle that is reflected in my daughter.

We love and miss you Papa John!!! Tyson and Talara are thinking of you. From the time you pulled a coin out of Talara's ear to the time you spent watching Tyson light off fireworks with his Dad. You will always be remembered.
