Obituary of Karen Marie Whynot

 

WHYNOT, Karen Marie – Age 62, of Maitland, Lunenburg Co., passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020 in South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Toronto, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Therese (Cottreau) House.

Karen was the founder and much-loved Director of Have a Laugh Players Theatre troupe where she had directed many plays throughout the South Shore. Karen worked in the kitchen of several schools in Lunenburg County and later retired as a baker after several years, with the former Apple Berry Farm Market, Bridgewater. Karen was the Religious Education Co-Ordinator for St. Norbert’s Roman Catholic Church, Lunenburg for many years.

Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who’s greatest joy in her life, was her family. Surviving are her husband and high school sweetheart, John; daughters, Stephanie (Jason), Sydney; Jessica (Suley), Grand Prairie; son, Jonathan (Olivia), Ottawa; grandchildren, Ryland, Gemma, Hunter, Kinsley; sister, Michelle Tipert, Bridgewater; brother, Brian (Tracey) House, Bridgewater; and several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, February 25 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. A Celebration of Life gathering will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Shore Regional Hospital Foundation or Canadian Diabetes Association.
