Susan, Shawna and family:
Dave was a jovial, kind and supportive person. He was a friend to our family for many years, always there to lend a hand or share a laugh. A smile comes on my face as I reflect on all the happy memories. You've left two strong and beautiful women, Dave. Long may your big jib draw. Stephanie Mount and Ian Clark

We remember both Dave and Carol as fun people with always having a smile and happy nature! We had Dave on our list of people to call again soon but waited too long. He will be missed. Our sympathy goes out to Susan and Shawna - we were happy to hear you were with your Dad before he passed. With love from cousin, Ron, and Mary Sealey.

My thoughts are with David's family during this time of sorrow. May his fond memories provide great comfort to you and his many friends. Through my parents "Doc" and Vicky Halliday I got to know David and we enjoyed his company and hospitality immensely; not to mention his love and tales of the RCN and the ADPNA. Fair Winds and Following Seas my friend.

David & Carol were " neighbours" in Italy Cross and both families later moved to Bridgewater where we continued our visits. Carol and Betty were co-workers at the food bank. We have fond memories of them both & miss them.

I remember Dave first from when I was younger growing up and knew his daughter Susan from school being at their house. Then got to know Dave more when he started working at CMHC. He knew how to make people laugh, he added so much the many that worked with him I would find reasons to go to stockroom just to see him. A great loss of a great man. To his daughters (and families) may all your wonderful memories help with the sadness. Gayle (Burke) Dorey

I remember visiting Dave from BC. I told him I wanted to try fresh NS lobster. Dave couldn’t stop the car fast enough, he ran into the seafood store and came out with 4 live lobster. I had never seen live lobster but of course you know the rest...drink, dinner and lots of laughs! RIP

My heartfelt condolences to Dave’s family. He was a kind and generous man. I know this because I was the teenager he opened his home to over 40 years ago. Dave protected and accepted me without question at a pivotal moment in my life and for that I am forever grateful to him and his family. I will always remember what you did for me. Rest In Peace my friend.

To Dave's immediate and extended family my sincere sympathies to all. Dave and I were shipmates and sailed together many years ago. I always enjoyed any time we saw each other. He was a really great guy, and I know he will be sorely missed. when we were on watch together in the boiler room there was always a good laugh or two.

So very sad to hear of Daves untimely death and knowing he and Carol will finally be together . We had a lot of interesting conversations as my late husband was from Hamilton as well. And lots of Navy conversations I will miss.
