My condolences to Joanne and the Meisner family on the passing of Gord Meisner. I had worked with Gord in several Divisions within the RCMP over the years. He was a true gentleman, jovial, pleasant and courteous to all. He was a dedicated peace officer and one who worked extremely well with others. Gord was one of the nicest guys I have ever known. I am sorry that I didn't get more time to spend with him over the years. May he rest in peace.

Our sincere condolences to the Meisner family. I first met Gordon in "B" Division and last saw him many years back in Truro. At that time we became involved in a long-winded discussion regarding the talent of Dire Strait's guitarist Mark Knopfler. Gordon was interested in many things and had a great outlook on life. He was a true gentleman who will be missed by all who knew him.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Gord's passing. We were stationed together in Grand Falls, Nfld. Gord was on Highway Patrol and I was right out of Depot, about two years behind him. Gord was just an excellent member, always pleasant, courteous, diligent, the type of person that everyone liked and respected. I believe the last time we crossed paths was about thirty years ago at a large security event. Same classy guy. Condolences to the family and may you remember the good times... Warm regards...
Pete German, Deputy Comm'r, RCMP (ret'd).

Terribly saddened to hear of Gord’s passing. Many memories of working with Gord, the fondest was when we first met in 1978. Gord and I attended a hunting camp break in out in Lansdowne, NS. We both got soaked to the arse in a torrential rain gathering evidence and then spent several hours, with the camp owner and his dad, drying out in front of the wood stove. I’m sure Truro Ident was wondering where Gord was as New Glasgow Detachment was trying to figure out my location. Spent some extended quality time enjoying nature, good company, good coffee and that wood stove. Rest In Peace old friend. Condolences to the entire Meisner family.

I am so sad to see this announcement. My condolences to Joanne. Gord was my troopmate and best friend throughout training and afterwards We shared many happy times together including his wedding to Joanne. I had my first lobster feast at the rehearsal dinner and think fondly of him fondly every time I eat lobster. As many others have said he was a great guy with a wonderful sense of humour. He kept me in stitches laughing at his frequent witty comments. We had many wonderful visits in Kamloops, Nelson and Bridgewater. Sadly, it has been a few years now since I last visited him and Joanne. I will always regret not going back sooner. RIP my friend.

When I saw this announcement I was floored. My condolences to Gord’s family. Gord was my troop mate in Troop 22, 1972 and we were sworn in together at Halifax,NS. Gord was a true gentleman and he struggled and persevered to get through training. Gord was well thought of by every member of that troop. No matter how bad things got Gord always had a smile on his face. Gord and I followed the same career path going into Forensic Identification and Gord’s reputation of being a solid “ident guy” was known across the country. Gord’s life was well lived. I miss my troop mate.

Jo-anne and family...so sorry to hear of your loss. I have many fond memories of Gordie in Truro during the 80's, utilizing his skills many times. He was a very social individual and so easy to talk with. Having policed in New Germany prior to Truro, Gordie had much to share and consequently we hit it off very well during our shared time. I recall finding myself in Lunenburg and to my surprise saw Gordie & family sitting in a restaurant window on one of your trips from BC.. It was wonderful to have a moment to re-connect. I can only trust that your memories over all your years together will help you through this trying time. My heartfelt condolences. Ray Oulton Truro Det 1980-1986

My condolences to the family of Gordie Meisner. I too have vivid memories as a young Cst in Stewiacke , my first posting of meeting up with Gord at a crime scene in his capacity as an Ident member and how his ability to do his job so effectively and effortlessly was something to watch! Likewise what might have been a traumatic event for an unseasoned Cst was quickly put aside by his quick wit and humor to diffuse the event! He was one of the good guys!

Joanne my heart aches for you. Your love for Gordon was evident at all times. Gordon always had a little twinkle in his eye. I remember the first time I met the two of you at the optometrist office. Gordon and you were always smiling and enjoying each others company. I know the last couple of years have been rough with Gordon being a resident at HVH. Covid19 made seeing him and spending quality time with him limited. You can rest easy now, knowing that God has welcomed Gordon. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Enjoy your wonderful memories.
