My deepest condolences to the family. I did not “know” your Dad but I had the pleasure of speaking with him on the phone when I called the Lunenburg County Winery. He was so witty and had such a great sense of humour! It was always a pleasure to speak with him.

He loved taking to all our lady customers especially.
When he was asked, 'How are you ?' by a customer .... he loved to say, "Wonderful now that I'm talking with you".
He did enjoy the phone. There was a customer that thought he was an answering machine & said, I hate answering machines ! & Dad said, "This answering machines hate humans" ... a brief pause & the lady started to giggle & then they continued their conversation.
Thank you for your condolence Nancy. Regards Heather

To the Southwell family(s), my sincerest condolences. I met Mr. Southwell through my parents, Richard "Doc" and Margaret Halliday. My parents frequently visited their friend Les at the winery and often spoke about Les in the highest regard. Les was an exceptional man whose life will forever hold fond memories in your hearts and strengthen your families at this difficult time.

Dear Chester we loved your mom & dad. Dad considered Doc a great long time friend...he remembered him as a young man in his shop onboard the Maggie...& their friendship grew from there. Great guys with a comrade, loyal & steady approach. Miss your sweet dad.
Dad will be with me everyday as he has for 67 years but I will miss his physical presence, strength, humour & guidance each day.

Lovely to hear from you Tom. Willie & Louvilla were my great grandparents also. Your mom was my mothers first cousin. Your grandparents Courtney & Matilda were my grandparents brother & sister so we are very related.
Lovely to hear your dad is living with you Tom & Alana. Please give him my regards. I thank you heartily for your condolences & very glad you had our Montbeliard Pear at your wedding. Our Boutiliers' came from Montbeliard, France in 1751.

We are so sorry to hear this sad news. Les was a genuine friend to my father (Doc) and we (Brenda and I) also considered Les a very dear friend. He always had a smile for us and when we had the chance to visit we would enjoy his stories and naval humour. Fair winds and following seas, we have the watch!!!

Heather, Dan and family,
So sorry for the loss of your Dad. Will miss the many extended conversations with him each year when we would put an order in. He would always remember my name as he would keep saying that his daughter's name was the same and would never forget that!! Always a pleasure to call and have him answer the phone.
I am sure there will be many memories that will last forever.

I met Mr. Southwell in the 1980's at my workplace and remember a smiling cheerful man. A few years ago I phoned the winery and I assumed I was getting a recorded message. When I realized I was talking to Mr. Southwell, he had a great chuckle and we had a lovely chat. What an amazing, adventurous life he led! Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Dear Heather and family. I was sorry to learn that your Dad had passed away. He was quite an amazing man. We met when my husband Bob Frank was the Industrial Development Manager for the Municipality. Your Dad was a pioneer in the blueberry wine industry. Sadly Bob passed away a year ago so he is not here to share stories and memories of Les
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely, Elizabeth Frank

I always enjoyed our Les to Les chat's whenever we visited throughout the years and will miss them now that he is in heaven with Janet and Mark.
