Obituary of Gerald Peter Dunphy

Dunphy, Gerald Peter – Age 72. Gerald was a beloved member of the community and dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. He passed away with loved ones by his side on June 17, 2023.  He lived a life of compassion, strength, and a deep commitment to serving others.  He will be remembered by his two sons, John-Gavin (Serah), Kevin (Alanna); his daughter, Jill (Jason); grandchildren, Emil, Ivy, Ada, Lydia, Amara, Fitzgerald, EmE, Ora; siblings, Merilyn (BoB), Mark (late wife Pauline), Linda, Eileen, Paul (Lorna); his church community, and the many friends he created great memories with.  He was always there to offer unwavering support and love throughout their lives.  We will all miss that infectious laugh heard around the world.

 

He was proud fan of Blue Jays baseball and a champion for the underdog. Whether it was supporting charities, or volunteering his time, Gerald embodied the true essence of compassion.  In his memory, let us strive to carry on his legacy of generosity, compassion, kindness and true grit.  Gerald will forever be remembered as someone who touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who know him.  May his soul find eternal peace.  

 

Visitation will be 10 a.m., to 12 p.m., Tuesday, June 20 in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater. Funeral service to follow at 2 p.m., in St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Bridgewater, Father Keith Billard officiating.
