Obituary of Lisa Leone Lewis

Lewis, Lisa Leone (Zwicker) - Age 55, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the Palliative Care Unit at the Victoria General Hospital, Halifax.

Lisa will be deeply missed by her children, Ella and Connor. She is survived by Ella and Connor’s father, Derek of Lakeside; mother, Melda of Lapland; siblings, Kirk (Linda) Tantallon; Philip (Janice) Waterloo; Sonia (Gary) Camperdown; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lisa graduated from the Victoria General School of Nursing in 1989 and upon graduation was employed at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Center for over 30 years. Throughout her years at work, she gained many friends and formed a close friendship with Lucy Roy who Lisa considered family.

Lisa was a caregiver by nature, which led her to her nursing career and then to her most treasured role as Mom to Ella and Connor. She often put the well being of her kids, family, and others before her own, and even with illness, still continued to do so.

She was predeceased by her father Avery, and we know in our hearts, they are together in peace. 

We would like to thank her friends, co-workers and neighbours who reached out with support for Lisa and her family. Your generosity and visits were greatly appreciated.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date. Details will be posted in the upcoming days on the Sweeny’s Funeral Home website once the details have been finalized. In lieu of flowers, as per Lisa wishes regarding donations please donate to “whatever works for you”.
