Obituary of Evelyn Harnett

HARNETT, Evelyn (Parsons) - Age 89, of Bridgewater, NS, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at South Shore Regional Hospital, Bridgewater. Born in Salmon Cove, NL; daughter of the late James H. and Julie A. (Harvey) Parsons.

Evelyn is survived by brother, Harvey Parsons (late Mary), Sudbury, ON; children, Sandra (late Byron) Flieger, Windsor, ON; Lori Camacho, Champaign, Illinois; Harvey Harnett, Saint John, NB; Paula (Larry) Hynes, Bridgewater, NS; Karen (Tom) Voigt, Gander, NL; and Cheryl Hynes, Ottawa, ON.

She is also survived by grandchildren, Jonathan, Jessica, Cheryl, Judy, Denise, Allison, Shane, Renee, Colin, Tyler, Tim, Julia, Patrick, Kaitryn and Laura; great-grandchildren, Kody, Grayson, Ian, Preston, Ari, Azaria, Abrielle, Addison, Avery, Connor, Noelle, Shane Jr., Sunny and Naomie along with many special nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, William "Guy" Harnett; sisters Ina (Bob) Davidson and Florence (Clyde) Payne.

A Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will be held 2 p.m., Friday, May 9th, 2025, in Sweeny's Funeral Home, Bridgewater, with Rev. Neil McEwen officiating. Private family burial will be held immediately following the service in Brookside Cemetery. Following the Celebration of Life at the funeral home, the public is invited to a reception at Bridgewater United Church, 87 Hillcrest St. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
